Tyranid Titans? Possible in the future? Would you like this?

Read this on BoLS. Interesting part was number 4.

The person said GW likes to throw out hidden nuggets in plain site. So this may or may not happen. Thing is, I thought the Dominatrix was supposed to be HUGE. I thought it would be bigger than an Imperial Knight. Not sure I would like a Dominatrix for an IK equivalent but something else. Not sure what else I would like.

So how about you guys and girls? Would you like something like this? Would you like it to be a Dominatrix? Would you buy it? I guess I would buy it, but depends on price and how awesome looking it is.

What are your thoughts and opinions?

Yes. Yes I would. I know whinging about Knights while hoping for a Tyranid equivalent is a double standard, but hypocricy is not heresy and thus I regret nothing . But really, I want something big and bad to curbstomp those stinking Knights. It'll further skew the balance and further the model inflation, no doubt, but I like big bugs and I cannot lie.

And I noticed the Dominatrix reference in the Knights codex as well. Do I want the big new kit to be a Dominatrix? Well, I have no association gaming-wise with the model, so I can't really tell you how they used to play out back in the old days of 40K. However, seeing how other units (Trygons, Exocrines, Haruspeces) have shrunked a bit to be made available in regular games, I could see this happening. Also, assuming a price tag of $140, that's way less than I usually pay for a Dominatrix *hint hint, wink wink, saynomore saynomore*.

No. Not a dominatrix, I believe it would be considered a LoW not just a super heavy unit. I'd still love to see a model for it, the dominatrix and hydraphant. It would be lovely if they gave us hierodules to use in regular 40k though.

Number 5 makes me think it's very unlikely to be as good as the knights in combat anyway. If I'm paying for a support model I'd rather it be small and cheap (in $ and points), a biototan being a support bug completely defeats the purpose.

In Epic, the Dominatrix was the second-largest Bio-Titan, only a bit smaller than the Hierophant. It'd be interesting to see, but I'd rather see more of the "sub-Titan" bugs like the Dactylis and Malefactor rounded out, and/or plastic Hierodules.

And Rules updates for them that don't suck, please

Hehe, Games Workshop likes to hint a coming releases in fluff. They also like to predict the fate of said units, getting chopped up by Knights, that is. Actually thought the Dominatrix was bigger than the Hierophant. I suppose that could justify its creation at some point. I would assume that in any case, if we were to receive a such unit it would be a Lord of War choice (by virtue of presumably being Gargantaun) but at that point I imagine LoW choices will have become a stable in regular games.

I thought it went hydraphant > dominatrix > hierophant > hierodules in terms of size.. everything I've read says hydraphant was the biggest.

I was just going based on the actually produced Epic Models. The Hydraphant never had a Model. The Epic Hierophant was slightly larger than the Epic Dominatrix.

1) F(Not saying the f-word) this power creep. It's NOT awesome. This way, in 10-15 years, there will be Dominatrices serving in the role of what is now Termagant-

Plastic Heirodule redesigned for the 4th+ edition aesthetic (tired of the goofy 3e duckbill, fat body look) and retooled rules and/or points and I'm a happy camper.

Something of a similar size to a knight with a similar price tag? I'd definitely buy that. Then I'd try and find a way to hide it from Mrs Beeva.

I agree the clefted lip on the FW models doesn't harmonize too well with the current aestethic, though I also wish they would go easy on the copy-paste of the Carnifex head.

Absolutely not!! The game is already out of control. The size of the battle area is too small and having more and more giant models/units on the board is not a good thing IMO. Why don't they make a game for that size of battle and/or for larger models. GW could call it Apocalypse and Epic or something. Wait a minute..what am I saying? These types of games cannot exist within the same universe otherwise it will cause a rip in the space-time continuum and a swarmlord will appear and rip you a new one.

The only way I want any bigger models is if GW would create one 10 stories high, bristling with D weapons, brings it to life and it goes berserk and destroys GW itself. Then I vote yes.
