The combat of the game was Abaddon & Chosen vs. The SwarmStar
The Set Up:
"Tzeentch orders Abaddon to bring him the Head of the Swarmlord"Abaddon deploys in the middle in a large piece of ruins. The Sorcerer gives Abaddon & his unit Invisibility & Endurance so he has a 2+ Cover and any unit assaulting him would be WS1.
The enemy SwarmStar deploys across from him on the enemies side behind a unit of screening Termagants. As the Tyranids move up, Abaddon wonders what this cunning foe has in store for him.
It seems like there are an unending supply of Termagants emerging from the "Baby Mama Abominations" and Abaddon orders their destruction from the Chaos Space Marines, Obliterators & Vindicator.
The Swarmlord orders a full on assault and the Gargoyles and Hormagaunts scream forward tearing up the ground and blocking out the skies.
Abaddon realizing that he is outnumbered, summons "The Mask" and some Pink Horrors & Flamers to thin out the amassing swarms before him.
Heedless of the danger and driven forward by the Presence of the Hive Mind the Hormagaunts & Gargoyles weather the incoming fire and quickly engage the Mask and the Space Marines on the left. The Swarmlord almost smiles as he sends forth his presence to awaken the Dormant Ymgarl Genestealers slumbering in the very ground that Abaddon occupies. A second unit emerges from some terrain near the unsuspecting Pink Horrors.
Knowing that the ranged weapons of the Hated Thousand Suns can quickly penetrate his hide, the Swarmlord orders the Ymgarls into their ranks, leaving the Despoiler to watch as his precious marines are cut down. Ever forward the Hive Mind pushes the Tyranid forces rapidly closing the distance.
Abaddon answers the Swarmlord's call by ordering the Vindicator to launch it's salvo directly at the Tyranid Warlord. However Tzeentch is a fickle god, and the weapon fails to even wound the SwarmStar (rolls 1s for wounding). If this battle is going to be won, then Abaddon must do it himself.
Knowing that the battle can be quickly won if the Synaptic web is broken, Abaddon moves forward to directly engage the SwarmStar. Even as the Gods order Abaddon forward to challenge the Swarmlord in One on One combat, Abaddon is wary for a trap. The Sgt. quickly steps to the front issuing a challenge, and like a champ, the Tyranid Prime steps in and makes quick work of him. During combat, the Swarmlord quickly dispatches 4 Space Marines while fending off all of Abaddon's blows with either his Lightning Reflexes or his ability to Feel No Pain.
Driven by the command of Tzeentch to fetch the head of the Swarmlord, Abbadon calls forth his challenge to the Swarmlord. Again the Tyranid Prime steps forward to answer the call, quickly distracting the Despoiler as the Swarmlord finishes another 4 Space Marines. All too quickly Abaddon realizes his mistake.
The entire combat was a ruse to lure the great warrior out in the open. Out of nowhere a seemingly endless wave of Hormagaunts slam into the last 2 Space Marines just as Abaddon is ripping the head off of the Tyranid Prime. Their Poisoned Claws make quick work of the remaining Marines and some Flamers of Tzeentch that strayed too close.
Tzeentch, displeased at the performance of the great champion, rewards Abaddon for killing the Prime by turning him into a Spawn of Chaos. (Whenever Abaddon slays a Character he rolls on the Chaos Boon Table, and Abaddon turned himself into a Spawn!!!!)
We could hear it as plain as day...
"I told you to bring me the head of the Swarmlord you fool, not his lackey!!!"At this point, the Swarmlord slices the Spawn apart and the remaining Tyranid units overwhelm the last of the Chaos forces.
Tyranids win... all objectives and Wipe Out of the Chaos Forces! First Blood, Linebreaker, Slay the Warlord!

This game was very straight forward with Tyranids going first. All of my reserves come in on turn 2 and the Ymgarls tie up the Pink Horrors and the 1000 Sons. The Gargoyles tie up the Chaos Marines and the Mask does some mini Lash work on my units until one unit of Hormagaunts overwhelm "The Mask".
I got Biomancy Powers 2-5 on the Swarmlord (didn't get Iron Arm or Hemorrhage). The Tervigons got Iron Arm, Endurance, Enfeeble, Life Leech & Warp Speed.
I spawned almost 50 Termagants this game moving out and capturing objectives. One Tervigon moved up the left and scored that objective, the other took out the Hellbrute in close combat and took the objective on the right.
