I think that's a bit light. I'm pretty sure that's about how much it would cost for full honer guard and a basic chainsword/bolt pistol Chapter Master. Not to mention Calgar can take 3 squads of Honer guard. That would be interesting to see ;D.

Full Command = 50 pts
Ward Save Banner (so against ANY thats right ANY ranged attack they get a 4+ save) = 75

Followed usually by 3 characters a Vamp Lord, Wright king (with regen banner- so on a 4+ AFTER their 2+ armour save and that 4+ ward save banner they get another 4+ regen save). and Manfred von Carstien.

IN all the unit ends up being about 1200 to 1500 points depending on the amount of knights and character equipment.

1500pts in a 2500pt game... yea... and I face it every time I play Vampires (so no one complain when I say I use an Arch Lector on War Altar and two Steam tanks).

You know for a laugh you have to fire Pit of Shades at that unit...

With the previous Chaos Dex, you could make some absolutely ridiculous combos. One of the guys around here had an 888 Point Khorne Biker Chosen Unit, and I came up with a Tzeentch Lord and Retinue that cost something like 1300-1400 Points.

I miss that Dex.

If you think you can reliably get that spell off (with them all at I5 and 6 anyway- I think my Vamp book is at the LGS) against Vampires then go for it but again the lists I play against have at base 8DD plus often a scroll or two.

Then again I play empire with 8-11PD and 5BS and a total of 7-10DD and 2 scrolls

I just fought a Daemon player who got off three irresistable force spells in one magic phase, which turned the battle from a probable win for me into a bitter draw. Don't tell me it's not possible!!!

Although in my magic phase following his, both my wizards miscast. So... yeah.

In the previous Chaos Codex, couldn't you have like 40 chosen in one unit? And then give them all Terminator armour AND equipment from the armoury?
