Darker days ahead for T4 multiwounds

ML spam won't be any worse than it already is, no one is going to take more ML then they already have just for taking out flyers.

If anything it will get better seeing that extra points will be allocated into taking Skyfire missiles that Hive Tyrants still get an armor save against.

That or ML will only be able to choose 2 types of missiles they can carry to prevent over complication.

Or knowing GW, ML will just get all 3 free and (please do not swear) over every non Imperium codex.

yeah it's annoying. it's an iconic unit, like terminators. nothing else in the game looks like a tyranid warrior. unfortunately...not so usable.

Iron Arm grants EW, not endurance.

Did anyone run warriors without a Prime or 2 to take the kraks though??

In all fairness, warriors in cover/spore cloud are *almost* as cost efficient as terminators. Until you give them upgrades. They do still put out more damage though.

I am trying to figure out a list where warriors are not a bad replacement for other troop choices.

I believe there is one thing they can do what no other troop choice can. Outflanking and shooting with loads of S5 and being synapse. The unit with a prime attached enters the game and has a good chance to deal out serious damage with shooting (BS4!) and then being a durable threat.

Of course imperial guard battle cannons are a serious threat but S8 templates are overestimated, I think. You can spread out enough, get cover saves and play with wound allocation to lose only one warrior each shot.

This is what I played once successfully vs. orcs and will try it against IG in a near future. Keep in mind that most missions are objective based and it is not about keeping warriors alive but to win the game!

Just want to point out tyrants can't save from grounded tests. So, the tyrant will likely be taking a wound from missiles at least once per round (likely)

That's honestly the reason I don't like Flyrants. Because a single vendetta has 3 TL Lascannons available to it and can shoot skyfire, for half the points of a tyrant the tyrant will be taken down. (vendettas in IG are 130 points yes?) because it will hit with bs3 twin linked, you won't get armor, and you get wounded on 2's with the cannons and then wounded on 2's with the grounded test (which you do get to have sort of a save)

The only thing that makes up for it is of you can get endurance and/or Iron arm.

Skyfire is pretty common now. Every flier has it.
