Hive Guard (mk 2; from warriors) Tutorial Included

Thanks! I plan to do a guide soon. The best part is that with a few magnets, these could EASILY be used as tyrant guard.

I did something similar, though not as epic or detailed. I could post pics, with your permission, Swarm God. I don't to be a threadjacker

TUTORIAL


here are the pieces needed. I forgot to add the small pointy gaunt carapace bit.


Chop the "arm pads" off of the torso and clear away the extra as shown in the picture. Also clip off the ridge on the top of the back carapace and glue the MC Extended Carapace piece in its place.


Chop off the extra carapace bits on the head, then round them off with an exacto knife or sand paper. After you glue the head together (I added a bit of extra glue by the eyes to get rid of them. Then clip off the bottom of the back of the head so that it will fit into the place on the body.


Clip off the tail a mm or so above the last carapace plate. Then clip the area until it vaguely resembles a stubby tail and use an exacto knife or sandpaper to smooth it out.


These are the pieces needed to make the arms.


here are the component pieces. Clip and smooth as needed. if you have any questions about what I did, ask.


Glue them together. Feel free to embellish with greenstuff. I'm too lazy lol

now for the extra-complicated gun. (note the spikey carapace bit that I forgot to include at the beginning).


Clip off the requisite pieces off of the venom cannon and then smooth out whatever is left. Shave down the backs of two-piece flesh hooks so that they are wedge shaped (the little carapace bits will fit better).


Drill out the 4 holes in the venom cannon barrel. Then get 4 single flesh hook tips with a bit of the shaft left. Shave down the shafts so that they will fit into the barrel holes.


Attach like so.



starting from the end of the barrel and working your way back, first glue down the hooks, then the carapace pieces. In the other version of the gun, Just glue all of that carapace bits on top of each other down the barrel.



Clip off the thumb and smooth out what's left.


Time for arm guards.


Clip off the "shoulder"


Glue down carapace.

Having them be able to work as Tyrant or Hive is a great idea too.
