I haven't bought the codex yet, I plan to buy it on Monday along with one of the new nids, I don't know yet. The warrior is equipped with dual boneswords and I guess rending claws and has injectors don't know if injector are a weapon or and option but w/e.
This is so far my best painted nid, took about 3 years to get to this point and I'm quite proud of this guy. I did tried alot of new techniques when painting this guy, I think I got the muscle streaking concept down now like I'll know where to put the streaks and how to curve them to make them look natural. This was my first time I tried to do lighting bolts and I think it turn out well and it wasn't too hard to do. The carapace was done a little different than what I usually do in that I didn't throw a black wash after the first coat of fortress gray, instead I slowly streaked fortress gray over the black undercoat slowly and tried to leave bits of the black showing.
I had fun converting this guy, adding things here and there and trying not to over do it so everything still looks sleek. Basing if anyone is wondering the "leaves" is tex mex spice where I sifted out the power and used the leftover bigger bits.
This guy is magnetized so I can swap out arms and whatnot or make alpha warrior versions of weapons which could be fun.
The only thing that I think could look better is more texture on the mouth guard but I'm still a bit shakey on trying to do texture on such an irregular piece of carapace. Also his pose looks too bent over so that kinda sucked.
Comments and criticisms are welcome
