Hey all,
So as I've mentioned in the welcome thread, I'm a returning nid player with an army who deserved better care through the course of about 3 living situation moves. As a result my army is largely in the painting and repair phases; afterwhich I'll be saving money to buy newer models I don't currently have.
I have about 4k points of nids, only 1/4 of which were ever actually totally painted(the rest at bare minimum have base coats though).
My workspace:
My old flyrant:
That guy used to be a devil-flyrant in the days of 4th edition. Through moves, he lost both sets of arms, his wings came off, and his tail broke off. I really liked this model, but frankly I'm going to end up re-priming the whole thing I think(and painting arms for him before I attach them this time so I can get the shading better).
A devilfex:
Sorry for the less than ideal angle.
A pair of fexes I made out of a single carnifex box(+ a MC base):
One of my friends who played tau retired his army, and gave me a really badly broken crisis-suit he had to use as I please. I think I decided I'm going to use him as a lictor:
Just some stuff I now notice looking back at my previous work, I need to improve on removing flash/plastic lines off the models before I prime them. I'm not really trying to achieve master craft quality, because frankly the gaming element is what I enjoy more, BUT I certainly wouldn't mind improving, so I'll welcome constructive criticism with open arms.
Also the greenstuff work you see here is mostly done with paperclips and faux-tools. That's another thing on my investment list, I'll probably end up having to re-do a bit of it but I did most of that GS work over a year ago. Probably should have just waited on doing that till I was sure what I was doing with my hobby-self.
