As some of you know I'm making a little diorama for my Trygon and I've got some Tau stealth suits that got caught right when the Trygon came bursting out. So here is my test model for the stealth suit.
I initially had it base coat black then a quick splash of a water down red, so the lighter colours can be painted easier. I initially had the idea that the areas closest to the ground (which at first I thought would have been covered by fallen autumn leaves) would be kinda blending in. But as I finished basing my display base the leaves where not really what I expected. So I kinda just improvised this test model.
I tried to paint in a similar way that army camouflage is done, according to my army fluff my Tyranid Fleet is invading a Tau World that is set in autumn, so there are lots of the autumn colours around. So I started with the orange, yellow, red, then brown. I only did the face and the upper leg since this is a test model.
As for the armies main colour scheme I'm planning it to be brown, and a secondary colour to be a mix of brown and a tad green, kinda like a leather colour. Also cloth will be painted Cygnar blue with a heavy black wash, you might be able to see that between the body and head.
Yeah, not fully painted but what do you guys think? Does the scheme work? C&C welcome.
Also is there a quick tutorial on painting camouflage out there?
And if I do stay with this scheme can anyone tell be what colour is that brownish green (back pack colour) colour closest to, GW or Privateer press paints
