@ Genevaman,
Shouldn't that article about the ultramarines be posted in Warhammer Comedy?

I've seen one of those guys! He came into a GW and started ranting for about ten minutes before storming off.

Had one of THOSE voices too. The kind that sets you down for life.

He's not the raging mad kind. He's more of a passive-aggressive, you know, the type of person that hates all big companies just because they're big and aren't on casual terms with all their fans. He hates GW more for it's style of game than he hates it for how it mistreats people and fumbles. He's actually a nice guy, but he just talks to much about how he hates GW.

GG: When people invite themselves into your home and expect you to be a sounding board/trash can. A friend wanted to just hang out for an hour or two over coffee in a cafe, and then invited herself over to my house for 3 hours and all she did was talk my ear off about gossip, and show me Youtube poop I have no interest in. I wanted to kick her out but I didn't know how to politely. My friends all have problems with their parents, and I don't mind them hanging out here, but I have a life too! Not to mention that she never lets me say or talk about anything I want to. After half a sentence she cuts me off with "That reminds me of when...."

Solution to problem 1:
Show pretty nids --- if that fails show more pretty nids... if that fails;

kill and eat him (cooked of course) - its what your nids would do (though they might leave out the cooking stage) to those who are unable to offer proper appreciation to the hive.

As for problem 2 - you could always spend the time rolling the bad numbers out of your dice whilst waiting. If that fails try recounting tabletop stories. Unless the other person is geeky too you'll fast scare them away with battle tactics; dice rolls and that repeat of the same story you keep repeating to her over and over of that one time the rippers killed something big and scary.

GG - cleaning mould lines. Seriously I never used to "see" them and now I see them everywhere!! Biggest downside is learning when to stop and not keep cleaning before I end up doing damage to things!

GG: Wind. I had left some Models that I'd just primed out on the balcony so they wouldn't smell up my apartment. Thought it would be fine, since the weather's been mild the last few days. Of course, that's the day we have a squall blow through while I'm at work, and knock most of them down into the parking lot.

Miraculously, they were all salvageable. Even the one that got run over only needs a new Base and gluing back together. It still totally killed my momentum for the day, if not the week, tho.

Overmind, I was just about to say "this friend wasn't a gamer, she hates GW for retro-stealing from Starcraft!" (Not anymore, but she did once go into a rant about GW stealing from Starcraft until I shut her up by telling her how old 40k is). But then I saw that you meant it to SCARE her away" ;)

GG: Friends that hate your hobbies or interests with a passion, but always tell you you're the exception. "Anyone who plays 40k is cave troll with no social skills... except you," This is just an example, I wasn't actually told that but I hear so much junk like it.

Or how about when your first game back from hiatus is against someone that not only chooses a raider spam list, but tries to swindle you into thinking it's a fun list, not a competitive list after dragging you an hour away from your home to go to a gaming store close to his home because he's to stubborn to go to the one halfway because he's just a difficult arse?

Or how about getting your hopes up about a friend who was going to move into your city and finally be a friend you can talk to about things without getting cut off, exploited or used, someone to have the exact type of 40k games you wanted to have with someone, and suddenly they may not be able to come.

Oh the Starcraft VS 40K argument can be as bad as PC VS MAC ones. Though generally its more fanboy than any of the others. Mostly because (from what I can gather) the series (either starting with Starcraft or with the earlier Warcraft series) began life as a Gamesworkshop commissioned project.
At some point the budget got pulled or the negociations fell apart and Blizzard simply imposed their own IP over the base game that they had already made.

Since then they've been totally separate (well aside from the Ze.. I mean Nids getting Hydralis--I mean Raveners ;))

On that point. Mac is not as good as PC.

GG: when stupid rich-ass russian (please do not avoid the swear filter) think their Macbook pro and air has better hardware than my gaming desktop. (without knowing any hardware component other than RAM, and on that i have double his RAM. They don't even know what RAM stands for and yet they think they are smart) RRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
