I hope i posted in the right forum. This thread is about what/how to do smal things to make your tyranid models look more flashy.
So what ive started with is my termagants and the first thing ive done (after scratching off the mold lines and filled gaps with GS) is bending their tails, i grant you pics pics PICS !

How done:
Well its not the first time someone did this, anyway, i used two tools, one for holding the model, one for bending the tail. I dipped them in ether very hot water (and did the bending under the water) or in a pan on the cooker/stove, the water shouldnt boil as i experienced it.
Tips/toughts:
Dont dip the whole model into the water, the base can get bent and maybe you would want to put on the green stuff (GS) after the bending, it could fall of due to heat or bending. Dont bend the tails to fast then the plastic could crack/brake. Bend all the way from the tail root; right after the "carapace spines"/holes/pockets beneath.
Ideas:
Next thing to pimp up these termis could be to make the tails more spiny like in the DOW2R game:
or like shell/pare/peel off some so that it gets rounded inwards on 3 sides:
Ideas about other models:
-Maybe add some more spikes on sides/all over the tails? (pic can be arranged)
-Carapace/body, the body should be mate and leathery to be lore right, the carapace beetle.like; 'ardcoat? (6+ save models).
Ideas for other models:
-For the shell for save 5+ models and to be lore correct about how their carapace material are exuding a resin-like substance, my interpretation of that is:
Something like rigid pus, slime or resin.
-For 4+ save models some more dense/thicker carapace, add some height on their current carapace or add some extra carapace plates somewhere.
-For 3+ save models, add some GS between the ribs like "stripes".
-For warriors i would want to try make em termagant alike:
That its kinda bent down... like a termagant.
Ill keep update the thread with ideas and pics along the way. Feel free to "spam" ideas and toughts, share.
