So I've caved and bought a Tyrannofex/Tervigon kit.(got permission more like it) And since money is a bit tight as im unemployed i wanted to maximize my options in using it aka be able to use it as a tyrranofex or a tervigon depending on how or what im playing. after lurking many hours on here ive seen some people magnetize the so called "uterus". and i got my ideas from that and i only used one magnet to hold it securely in place. also ive magnetized both sets of weapons(RC/AS), and the CC/FH. Ive started to prime and paint, i will post a pic of the style im kinda going towards.
My color scheme im trying to go with;

![[image] [image]](http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b8/x3rothru3ight/Warhammer%2040k/IMAG0814.jpg) i didnt keep the rear magnets as there is only one set of legs that goes in.

here is the start of the painting.

![[image] [image]](http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b8/x3rothru3ight/Warhammer%2040k/IMAG0833.jpg)
as well as my older Zoan that i converted into a Doom of Malan'tai i know its not HUGE or anything but i had the older Zoan laying around and i like its head better so thats what i used.

Please let me know what you think as well as any critique or even thoughs on which weapons to run with the t-fex/t-gon. or which to run in general.
Thanks!

i would suggest more detail on the entire model (drybrushing, highlighting ect*)
as your scheme would'nt look very good on your larger beasts.
just calling it as i see it.
you DoM is looking good.

Going to have to disagree with you there - I know first hand that this colour scheme looks great on larger beasts. Obviously you'll need a bit more detail on there for larger models, but that's true of any scheme.

I think you forgot the mandibles on the tervigon head.

hive fleet pandora: yes i know i need to add abit more details and such but it was just a quick mock up of what im trying to go with.
Icepick: I totally just realized my scheme is very close to yours, hope you dont mind! and after looking at your models i really like the scheme even better, but i dont want mine that bright of a yellow.
Phenious: yes i know the mandibles are not on the head, i think its easier to paint with them off then glue them on once the head is done for the most part.
anyone have any tips on feathering or adding details/highlights to the model and carpace? i tried feathering on another model and yeah it didnt turn out very good, any help is appreciated!
Thanks!

I don't mind at all, it's not like I own the colour scheme or anything I actually enjoy seeing models with similar colours to mine, it helps me see if there are things I would like to do differently.

What highlights do you think would work well for the carpace? i do like the purple to bluish white thats on yours icepick but do you think there are any other highlights that would work well with the purple/yellow?

Orange, red or Light Browns would look good with the yellow and purple. Also light shades of green would also make a complete tertiary color scheme.

heartagramtc,
Love the orange to white for the heads for the skin it just looks awesome! Have you tried that on a entire model yet? Makes me think your nids would be living on the sun. Whatcha thinking of doing for colors for the eyes and teeth?

I am using 1/4 x 1/16. They work great for the larger models but for the smaller ones I'd suggest 1/8 x 1/16 as the 1/4 are too big for arm sockets on non MC's.

Evan, The orange is just my undercoat, and I am using the white to highlight because I am using a yellow ink to go over it so the white will be actually yellow and the orange will give it the depth, hopefully. I will post a updated pic of the head for the tfex as I haven't had much time to paint. As for the eye and teeth I'm not sure as on the termi the brown/bleached bone/white dosent stand out very much. So I'm still trying t think what color to do.
Also im not sure why but in the top head in both pics looks more greenish yellow. but in real life it isnt any hint of green,
here are two pics after the yellow wash
