What I think should happen for the next evo competition. A time span of a few months. Cause I only read about this thread now and even if I read it earlier I couldn't have made anything for even this deadline cause of BS.
So maybe in the future of this thread the time span is a quarter or a third of a year (Jan-April, May-Aug, Sept-Dec). So that way people who have no regular time but during holidays/periods of time off can take part in this competition. Also you would need to make a few of the models and a set of rules for the creature (and no overpowered rules?).
So if there is another contest like this I shall enter an entry.
Btw Some of those things are looking really good. Others not so great. But still okay.

Sorry Hobbes :/
I will do another one maybe in a month or so, and it will last longer, and rules will be required
Sadly, I can't afford an actual prize so the 'prize' will just be a drawing of your nid codex-style.

Tis okay. This contest is a good idea. Just needs a few more rules (like I outlined). If at least some of my ideas are built into the next contest it would be good. The contest is a great idea. Gets new ideas flowing into nids. Just needs some structure to it. Maybe have only 2 a year. But only 4 months to do it in. And one of the 2 a year is a themed building thing (i.e. I want flying based creatures, or tunneling based creatures, woodland, city, swamp, etc.) That could turn out some very nicely themed creatures. Maybe 3 a year and for 2 of them you have 2 themes of which you can make a creature. And I think no prize is really necessary. You are making new nids after all. What better prize than making a good new modelled nid? Answer me that.

Well, aside from thinking that a drawing of one of our own creations would be pretty cool?
But I do like the longer comp idea. I would have made up three of my shield-crab-bug-thing, mounted them on a base and painted etc. And the rules thing, again, it's a good idea. I tried to touch on that in my creature description - it's terrain rather than an actual infantry model.
At the same time, the short time span actually got me off my butt and actually making something, rather than thinking "oh well, I've ages yet..."

I'm not running the competition. Ask Julio. But in my post I did suggest 3 times a year with 2 themed and 1 freestyle. I guess we will all have to think it through.
